Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most successful and established actors in the film industry. He started from zero and slowly made his name high in the film industry. But it was not always the same, the actor once suffered from huge debt and many legal cases.

In the year 1996, after doing good films he decided to set up Amitabh Bachchan Corporate Ltd (ABCL) to try his hands in production.

But his dream project could not surface successfully and the company went under a huge loss and debt.

In 1999, Big B had, in fact, mortgaged his bungalow to raise funds for ABCL after he was legally restrained to sell the bungalow by Bombay court.

It was Yash Chopra's hit film Mohabbatein that truly helped him stand back on his feet.He also won his third Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In an interview with Vir Sanghvi the actor openly spoke about those dark days, "There were about 90 crores to be paid and about 55 legal cases. There were creditors on the door every day and it was very embarrassing and humiliating for many many days."

"People who once wanted to support me and Jaya and wanted to work with us became very rude, hostile, and humiliating towards us, " he concluded.
