More than a decade ago, Shraddha debuted in the Hindi film industry with Leena Yadav’s ‘Teen Patti’ alongside actors Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley and R Madhavan in 2010. Even though she may not have been able to taste success immediately after her debut film, she gained recognition after Aashiqui 2 opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor. Cut to the present, Shraddha has performed diverse characters, creating a niche of her own in showbiz. Shraddha Kapoor since her school days was a brilliant student. She reportedly scored 95 per cent in her class 12 board examinations. Shraddha was studying psychology at Boston University but dropped out of college, just a year after joining the course. It happened so because she had started to get offers from the film industry.

Contrary to what one may think, considering that Shradhha Kapoor comes from a filmy family, her parents wanted her to opt for the academic field. However, since Bollywood runs in her blood, she chose to differ, heard her calling and made a career in showbiz.

It is a relatively known fact that Shraddha Kapoor is half Punjabi and half Maharashtrian, given that her father Shakti Kapoor is Punjabi and her mother Shivangi Kolhapure Kapoor is a Maharashtrian. But what many would not know is that the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was Shraddha’s grandmother. Lata’s father, Deenanath Mangeshkar, was the uncle of Shraddha’s grandfather Pandrinath Kolhapure.
