Popular Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday after suffering a heart attack. The actor was rushed to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after complaining of chest trouble at around 11.30 am. But doctors failed to revive him. Puneeth is affectionately known as Appu by his followers. He is the son of Kannada matinée icon Dr Rajkumar and film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar.
Puneeth has appeared in more than 29 Kannada films. Appu (2002), Abhi (2003), Veera Kannadiga (2004), Mourya (2004), Aakash (2005), Ajay (2006), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Vamshi (2008), Raam (2009), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Raajakumara (2017), and Anjani Putra (2017) are among his financially successful films (2017). He began his career as a child artist, winning the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 1985 for his role in Bettada Hoovu. For his performances in Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu, he received the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist.
