The ongoing scam has been taking place in the name of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). These Whatsapp and Telegram messages are being circulated with international numbers.
The police have alerted the people not to fall prey to such scams. Also, they have urged people to avoid sharing their bank details or replying to such messages and preventing communication with unknown persons. Not just that, they have also said to avoid transferring money to unknown persons without verifying their identification and credibility.
The West Jaintia Police have also given some instructions on social media that can help them identify such scams and avoid engaging with it.
