Starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan has continued its impressive run at the box office even after completing a full week in theatres. According to trade estimates, the action entertainer earned Rs 8.30 crore net in India on its seventh day. Though the film saw a drop of around 22 percent compared to Day 6, the collections remained steady for a weekday release.

The movie reportedly ran across more than 5,000 shows nationwide, proving that audience interest is still very strong. Social media has also played a major role in boosting the film’s visibility, with fans sharing celebratory videos and cheering loudly during Suriya’s entry scenes.

Film Inches Closer To Rs 200 Crore Worldwide

With Day 7 collections added, Karuppu’s total India net collection has reached Rs 114.05 crore, while the India gross stands at Rs 132.05 crore. Overseas markets have also responded positively to the film, contributing significantly to its growing worldwide numbers.

The film reportedly earned around Rs 3 crore overseas on Day 7, taking the total worldwide gross collection to Rs 189.05 crore within just one week. The movie is now only a few crores away from entering the prestigious Rs 200 crore club, which would mark another major achievement in Suriya’s career.

RJ Balaji Reveals Why He Waited For A May Release

Director RJ Balaji recently opened up about the film’s delayed release schedule and revealed that he was determined to bring Karuppu to theatres in May. The project was initially planned for a Deepavali release but faced multiple postponements due to production delays.

RJ Balaji shared that several alternative dates, including January and February windows, were offered to him. However, he decided against them because he strongly believed the film would perform best with a May release. His decision appears to have worked in the film’s favour, as Karuppu has emerged as one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year so far.
