Kangana Ranaut has chimed in on the internet discussion generated by Alia Bhatt's recent bridal commercial. She turned to Instagram and published a message in which she asked companies not to incorporate 'religion' into their advertising to mislead 'naive customers.'
In the latest commercial, Alia Bhatt sits at a wedding mandap with her husband-to-be, telling viewers how much her family loves her but that she must leave one day for her husband's house. "Am I an object that can be donated? "Why only Kanyadaan?" she wonders in her head. She is pleasantly delighted when her mother-in-law and father-in-law also give away their kid. Everyone is happy, and the pair marries.
Many fans praised the contemporary spin on the tradition, but others voiced their displeasure on social media. Abhishek Varman, who directed Alia in the films 2 States and Kalank, directed the commercial.
Kangana published a lengthy essay in which she stated that women are worshipped in the scriptures and that there is no wrong in viewing them as the "precious wellspring of existence."
Kangana, in the caption, wrote: "Humble appeal to all companies..... please do not exploit religion, minority, or majority politics to promote products.... Stop deceiving gullible consumers with clever polarising notions and advertising..."
It is not Kangana's first time criticising Alia or her work. She has frequently slammed her, criticising her acting abilities and labelling her a part of the 'nepo-gang.'
