The film, directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, has a huge star cast including Madhavan, Tushara Vijayan, Priyamani, Jayaram, and Sathyaraj. It kicks off with a debate on whether G.D. Naidu's name should be in school textbooks. The story then flashes back to Coimbatore, where a young Naidu works in a hotel. He buys a motorcycle from an Englishman, teaches himself its mechanics, and starts his journey as an inventor. The film shows his rise as an entrepreneur, creating the U.M.S. bus service by merging several companies. But the same Englishman returns as a tax officer, creating hurdles for him. The movie powerfully shows his struggles with tax cases, social opposition, and the impact of the World War, which almost led to his assets being auctioned off.

R. Madhavan gives an unforgettable performance, creating another iconic character in his career. He convincingly portrays every stage of Naidu's life, from a young man's energy to an old man's wisdom, using his body language, expressions, and voice. He brings to life the curiosity of an inventor, the courage of an entrepreneur, and the resilience to face failure. His acting in the courtroom scenes and confrontations with the tax officer is a major highlight. Priyamani, as Naidu's first wife, powerfully conveys family emotions with her subtle acting. Tushara Vijayan, as the second wife, naturally plays the role of a supportive partner during tough times.

Jayaram plays the tax officer with a mix of control and authority, making him a strong opponent for the hero. Sathyaraj, in the role of Ramayya Pillai, brings the story to life with his experienced acting and natural humour. Karunakaran, who usually does comedy roles, shows a new side in a negative character. The entire supporting cast, including Aditi Balan, Vinay Rai, Mohan Raman, Thejeendan Arunachalam, Thambi Ramaiah, Brigida Saga, Sheela Rajkumar, and Shilpa Srikumar, have done a great job in their roles.
Govind Vasantha's background score perfectly captures the feel of the period, and the songs blend well with the story. Cinematographer Aravind Kamalanathan has created beautiful visuals that bring old Coimbatore to life on screen. The editing is fast-paced, but you might feel that some parts of the second half could have been trimmed. Director Krishnakumar Ramakumar has done a great job of balancing G.D. Naidu's achievements with his failures, personal struggles, and the social opposition he faced.
