Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are considered one of the most adorable couples in the film industry. They are also known as the power couple in India, and yesterday, they compleated their 30 years of marriage without celebration. This year there was no celebrations because their son Aryan Khan is in the Arthur Road jail as he was arrested from the cruise rave party on October 3.
Coming back to Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's love story, both met in 1984 in Delhi before he started working in films. That time Shah Rukh was just 18, and Gauri was 14. After dating for years, Gauri and SRK married in 1991 in a traditional Hindu (Punjabi) wedding ceremony.
In a book titled Bollywood-Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, written by Anupama Chopra, some interesting details are written about Shah Rukh and Gauri’s love story. Shah Rukh and Gauri have faced obstructions while convincing her family about their marriage.
Not just that, Gauri’s brother Vikrant Chibber had allegedly threatened Shah Rukh by keeping him at gunpoint. An excerpt from the book reads, “Vikrant had a reputation of being a goonda (thug). He threatened Shah Rukh with a gun, but the posturing didn’t scare his sister’s suitor.”
The couple welcomed their first child almost 6 years after their marriage, son Aryan in 1997; their daughter Suhana was born in 2000, and their second son AbRam in 2013 via a surrogate.
