Amid the preparations for IPL 2020 in the UAE, Ganguly recently met Mamata at her office, according to a report in Outlook magazine’s website.

The report stated that Ganguly had met the chief minister to return the land provided to him by the TMC government.

As per the report, earlier, Ganguly was given the land from the Left government to build a school. But due to legal issues, he was unable to get it.

“It is learnt that the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation, at the behest of the TMC government, had allocated land to Ganguly for building an up to Class XII (ICSE) school. Ganguly soon ran into legal issues here as well,” the report said.

Now, Ganguly Educational And Welfare Society, which has Ganguly as president, has decided to return the land, said the report.

With his latest move, there are speculations that he may join the BJP ahead of next year’s Assembly election in Bengal.
