Yuvraj Singh had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019. He could play just 40 Tests in his illustrious career, with his last Test being in 2012. Consequently, it seems like he is frustrated with Team India management for ignoring him in the format.

Former Indian swashbuckling batsman Yuvraj Singh might be leading a peaceful retired life from cricket. However, it seems like he has some regrets, besides having some frustrations regarding one of the aspects of his career.

Recently, a cricket website posted a tweet, asking fans to comment on which players should have played more Test cricket. Yuvraj went on to reply to the tweet, saying, "Probably next life! When I'm not 12th man for 7 years."

According to his reply, it seems that Yuvi could be frustrated at the Team India management for ignoring him too long, despite being in the squad during India's Test commitments. In his illustrious 19-year career, Yuvi could only manage to play 40 Tests, scoring 1,900 runs at an average of 33.92, including three tons and 11 half-centuries, along with a top score of 169. He made his debut in the format in 2003, three years after his international debut, he played his last Test in 2012.

Earlier, Yuvi's father, Yograj Singh, had stated to NewsBytes that playing alongside other Indian greats like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly somewhat made it difficult for Yuvraj to have a decent Test career. He also stated that had Yuvraj not been playing Tests in the wrong era, he would have played 200 Tests.

Nevertheless, Yuvi went on to have a blazing career in the limited-overs circuit, scoring 8,701 runs in 304 One-Day Internationals and 1,177 in 58 Twenty20 Internationals. He played a focal role in India success during the ICC World T20 2007 and ICC World Cup 2011.

Despite having retired in 2019, Yuvi was eager to make a comeback in the domestic circuit last year. However, his request to come out of retirement was reportedly turned down by the BCCI.NOTE: Asianet News humbly requests everyone to wear masks, sanitise, maintain social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as eligible.
