Adam Zampa is an Australian leg-spinner who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He was roped in during the 2020 season. RCB was knocked out in the eliminator of the 2020 edition, as it is still in the hunt for its maiden title.

The Indian Premier League 2021 is all set to kick start from April 9. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore would be eyeing for its maiden title this season.

However, the franchise has suffered a mild setback, as its prime leg-spinner, Adam Zampa of Australia, would miss out on its opening game. RCB takes on defending champion Mumbai Indians in the season opener on April 9.

Zampa would be missing out owing to his marriage commitments. The 28-year-old is set to tie the knot to his long-time girlfriend, Hattie Leigh Palmer.

"Adam Zampa is getting married. It's an important time for him and it's something that, as a franchise, we are aware of and we respect, and we hope he has a great time. So, when he joins us, once again, he is going to be fresh and make a massive contribution to the rest of the tournament," said RCB's director of cricket, Mike Hessonon a Twitter video.

Zampa has had a decent IPL career, having claimed 21 wickets in 14 games at an economy of 7.73. Last season, he played only three games for RCB, managing to claim a couple of wickets.

Zampa was roped in by RCB last season for ₹1.5 crore. Before that, he had played for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016-17.
