Rohit Sharma is an opening batsman who has been leading Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League since 2013 and has helped the side win record five titles. MI is currently placed atop the IPL 2021 table, as it is eyeing its third consecutive title.

Defending champion Mumbai Indians is yet proving again why it is the undisputed champion of the Indian Premier League. On Saturday, it tamed former champion Sunrisers Hyderabad convincingly by 13 runs in a low-scoring encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.MI’s bowling attack has been phenomenal this season, as even the slimmest of scores are being portrayed as a monumental one to chase. Meanwhile, MI skipper Rohit Sharma has hailed his bowlers for executing the plans flawlessly so far.

“If bowlers are executing the plans, it makes it easy for the captain. It was a great effort from the bowling unit. We knew it was not going to be easy, and when you have a pitch like that and the bowlers are executing the plans, it makes it easy for the captain to manoeuvre the field and keep having those options of your bowling changes,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.

Rohit also heaped praise on the fielding effort put on by the side that played a vital role in the win. “I thought our fielding was pretty good today, those two runs-outs, few catches, that is something we take a lot of pride in. We want to be the best fielding unit in the competition and making sure that we tick all the boxes. So far, we have picked few boxes; there are few more left,” he added.

Meanwhile, with SRH losing three games in a row, Warner found it a difficult pill to swallow, besides admitting that the batting was sub-standard. “Yes, spot-on. I don’t know how to take that. It is quite disappointing,” he reckoned.

“They are very chaseable, it’s just poor batting. If you get a partnership and have one guy at the end, like all the other teams batting first, they always had one person at the end; if you are able to do that, you can chase down 150 quite easily,” he concluded.

League leader MI would be up against fourth-placed Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. Meanwhile, bottom-placed SRH would take on seventh-placed Punjab Kings the next day.
