The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest Twenty20 (T20) league in the world, as the build-up to its 14th edition is seemingly underway. Five months following the conclusion of the 2020 edition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the 2021 edition is likely to be held in India between April-May.

Ahead of the 2021 edition, there would be a mini-auction ceremony, which is expected to be held on February 11. As the build-up to the auction is supposedly underway, the franchises, too, have started to engage themselves in banters over the same on social media. Recently, former champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) engaged themselves in a similar banter over a star player.

A few days back, RR set a question-answer session on Twitter with their fans, captioned, “BREAKING: We’re a bit bored. Anyone there?” It immediately followed a series fo questions from fans.

Meanwhile, a CSK fan urged RR to trade the latter’s captain, Steve Smith, with the side, as he wrote, “Let’s finish the boredom by trading Smudge to CSK.” RR came up with a witty reply, saying, “Let’s wait on this, he’s still in his early 30s.”

The 2020 season for both the franchise did not end on a good note. While RR finished at the bottom of the table, CSK finished a place above, on seventh. Moreover, the latter failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time ever, as it is continued to be led by MS Dhoni.
