The IPL 2021 has three teams confirmed for playoffs. With KKR, PBKS, RR and MI in contention for the sole fourth spot, here is the qualification scenario.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has already seen Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Royal Challengers Bangalore seal their place for the playoffs. With just the fourth spot up for grab, four teams are still in contention for it. On the same note, we analyse the qualification scenarios of the same.

Kolkata Knight Riders
Former champion KKR is currently placed in the fourth spot, with 12 points. It has a game remaining against fellow former champion Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday. A win in the same would help it qualify right away, while a loss could bring in other results going its way.

Punjab Kings
PBKS is in the fifth spot with ten points. It, too, has a match remaining with CSK on Thursday. While it has to win the game, it has to do so by a more significant margin, besides expecting KKR, RR and Mumbai Indians (MI) to lose their matches by a considerable margin.

Rajasthan Royals
RR has a couple of games left, as it takes on MI on Tuesday and KKR on Thursday. A win is both should see it through, while a loss in either would bring in the scenario of other results going its way.

Mumbai Indians
The defending champion still has a couple of games in hand. It plays RR on Tuesday and former champion Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, with the latter being already eliminated. It has to win its remainder games by significant margins, while a win by KKR in its next game would entirely dent its chances.
