Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has a task at hand to ensure the former champion Chennai Super Kings performs to the fullest in the Indian Premier League 2021. However, he has a concern in his personal life after his parents were hospitalised on Wednesday for testing COVID positive.
Dhoni's father, Pan Singh, and his mother, Devika Devi, were admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi, where they are going medical treatment for the same. Meanwhile, Dhoni's wife Sakshi has confirmed that the condition of her in-laws is stable and are being looked after adequately.
"Thank you, everyone, for your concern! My in-laws are stable and are being taken good care of!! Your prayers will speed up the recovery," Shakshi wrote in a story on Instagram.
Meanwhile, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming, too, confirmed the same. "From a management point of view, we're well aware of his family's situation, and the support has been set up for MS and his family. Talking with MS, the situation is under control for now, but we will monitor that over the next few days," he said during a press meet on Wednesday.
"Obviously, it's a tough time for everybody, and the fact that it's affecting India the way it is, but also reaching the IPL with friends and family - hopefully not into the bubbles, but we've spent quite a bit of time talking about care of the friends and families in the wider group. We have that responsibility to make sure that he's got the support he needs and we hope that his family recovers quickly," Fleming added.
CSK is coming off a winning performance on Wednesday against fellow former champion Kolkata Knight Riders, having won by 18 runs in a thrilling encounter. It was CSK's third win of the season, as along with a loss, it has risen to the top spot of the IPL 2021 points table.
