It was finally a win for Mumbai Indians in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. It defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi, while quite some interesting records were succeeded in the process.

Defending champion Mumbai Indians finally managed to earn a win, as it defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 42 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi by six wickets on Tuesday. With this win, MI stays in contention for the playoffs, while some exciting records were scripted.

Kieron Pollard does some first
- Pollard claimed a couple of wickets in the match. It was the second time he had done so this season, while the first of the same happened in 2013.
- Also, he is the first in Twenty20 cricket to score 10,000 runs and bag 300 wickets.

Krunal Pandya joins an elite list
Krunal claimed a wicket in this game. Meanwhile, he has become the eighth IPL player to score 1,000-plus runs and claim 50-plus wickets after Jacques Kallis, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Irfan Pathan, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard and Ravindra Jadeja.

PBKS registers an unpopular
PBKS suffered its 108th loss in the IPL. As a result, it is the joint-most in the tournament to date, along with Delhi Capitals (DC), with both sides suffering the defeats on the same day.

Winning the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma decided to chase, as PBKS posted a below-par total of 135/6, thanks to Aiden Markram's 42. In reply, MI struggled, but Saurabh Tiwary (45) and Hardik Pandya (40*) pulled it off with six balls to spare.
