The IPL 2021 final would see MS Dhoni's CSK takes on Eoin Morgan's KKR. However, the contrasting difference between both's captaincies has been highlighted by Gautam Gambhir and Dale Steyn.

It would be an intense clash in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, as former champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) face off at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday. It would be a repeat of 2012 final, during which KKR trumped to win its maiden IPL title.

While CSK skipper MS Dhoni would lead the side in its ninth IPL final, KKR captain Eoin Morgan is in its maiden final. However, throughout the season, there has been a contrasting difference in both captaincies, highlighted by former IPL-winning captain of KKR, Gautam Gambhir, along with Dale Steyn.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Gambhir said that Morgan batted at number five during the initial half of the IPL due to poor form before pushing himself further down. He also reckoned that he is putting himself under pressure as he keeps doing the same.

However, he feels that Morgan's captaincy cannot be compared to Dhoni, since the latter no longer plays international cricket. But, in comparison, Dhoni has done better, while Morgan looks in the worst form of his life.

In the meantime, former South African pacer Steyn told the same publication that both skippers are not in their best form. However, with Dhoni coming off a good session in his last game compared to Morgan, it would catch up to both.

Elaborating further, Steyn stated that Dhoni successfully led CSK into the final, while Morgan bit his teeth in the process of doing so. Terming Dhoni's class as permanent, he feels that KKR's luck might eventually run out in the final.
