Suresh Raina is a former Indian batsman and an ICC World Cup winner in 2011. He has played most of his Indian Premier League career for Chennai Super Kings, besides playing for Gujarat Lions for a couple of seasons, due to CSK's suspension.

When it comes to one of the oldest players in the Indian Premier League, there are quite a few big names that can be recalled. While MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the ones to strike first, Suresh Raina also falls in the same category.

The former Indian middle-order batsman announced his retirement from international cricket last year. However, he continues to serve Chennai Super Kings to date, playing for the side since 2008, while he represented Gujarat Lions for a couple of seasons during CSK's suspension.

While this would be his 14th season, Raina already has countless records to his name. Meanwhile, he would be up for more in the upcoming season, as we take a look at the significant records he could script this term.

IPL's 6k-run clubRaina is one of the highest run-scorers in the tournament, having scored 5,368. Meanwhile, he needs 632 more to enter the 6,000-run club for the competition. Besides him, Virat Kohli (5,878) is only the other man in contention for doing so, as the race is for who reaches the landmark first.

Most IPL half-centuriesRaina is currently just a 50 behind the current record holder in the IPL, Virat Kohli (39). However, Raina will have to keep scoring quite a few half-centuries if he wishes to make this his exclusive record.

200 IPL sixesRaina would also look to attain a record in terms of hitting sixes. Currently, he has 194 sixes to his name and would aim to become the sixth player in the tournament to enter the 200-sixes club. He would join Virat Kohli (201), Rohit Sharma (213), MS Dhoni (216), AB de Villiers (235) and Chris Gayle (349).

Most CSK centuriesRaina tends to play quickfire innings and score a century in the process in no time. Although he just has a ton to his name so far, managing to score at least a couple would make him the highest century scorer in the side among Indians, surpassing Murali Vijay (2). Also, scoring three or four centuries would allow him to match or exceed CSK record-holder Shane Watson (4).

200 IPL gamesRaina has played 193 games in the IPL to date. He needs to play seven more to enter the 200-game club. He would become only the third player after MS Dhoni (204) and Rohit Sharma (200) to do so.
