This was Sunrisers Hyderabad's eighth win of the season in 15 matches, as they have qualified for Qualifier 2 for the second occasion. They will face Delhi Capitals in Q2. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their first defeat in the Eliminator to date.

In what turned out to be a low-scoring thriller, it was former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who outplayed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Eliminator of 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. Being played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday, SRH won the tie by six wickets, while RCB were knocked, as the latter's wait for maiden IPL title continues. Meanwhile, let us have a look at the records that were scripted in the process.

T Natarajan dominates at the death: Natarajan claimed 233 tonight. Furthermore, both his wickets came during the 18th over. As a result, he has now claimed the third most wickets this season between overs 16-20. He is led by Jasprit Bumrah (14) and Kagiso Rabada (16).

Moeen Ali joins an unwanted list: Moeen was run out for an unfortunate duck, and that too during a free-hit delivery. In the process, he became only the second man in the history of the IPL to be run out during free-hit, with the first being Kedar Jadhav in 2017.

Manish Pandey breezes past this season: Pandey managed to play a weak innings of 24 tonight. Nonetheless, it has happened to be his best season, as he has scored the most runs in a single season to date (404).

Match report: Winning the toss, SRH skipper elected to bowl first, as the decision turned out to be a fine one. SRH pace-bowling all-rounder Jason Holder continued his excellent form, as his 325 suppressed the RCB batting order, while Aaron Finch (32) and AB de Villiers (56) guided the side to a below-par total of 1317.

In reply, SRH too were off to a shaky start. However, the psychological advantage prevailed, as an unbeaten Kane Williamson (50*) ensured that the side sailed through, without any hiccups, and won by six wickets, thus qualifying for Qualifier 2. They now face Delhi Capitals (DC) in Q2.
