Mumbai Indians: MI, who are currently on 14 points, need just two more wins to seal their spot, as the fifth-placed team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), can only reach a maximum of 16 points.

Kings XI Punjab: KXIP are currently on 12 points and have a couple of games remaining. With the teams above them already on 14 points, they have to win their remainder both for a sure playoffs finish. A loss and a win can make it a dicey affair for them, leaving them to rely on other teams.

However, provided the three teams above them perform better, it could come down to the NRR between them.
