"I need to take care of my elbow first before I think about what is going to happen. For me, in the immediate, I want to get through this series and then I will do everything in my power to make sure I'm going to the World Cup and the Ashes," said Archer following the game, reports PTI.

"I'm just glad to have helped in the win. I'm just honest. If I get one wicket or three, the way I bowl doesn't change. I think wickets just depend on how lucky you are at the time," he added.

Along with himself, he also praised his fellow teammate and pacer Mark Wood for some prolific bowling. "I still try to cheer him, still to try to wind him up a bit. It was good to see the ball carrying through and see the speed gun. Really exciting to see what he can do in the rest of the series. I still try to outpace him, but I don't think I am in the best position to do it at the moment," he concluded.
