Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan was in form as he displayed his ruthless batting abilities on Friday. He smashed a 32-ball 84, helping defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) win its final Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 clash against former champion SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
It was a much-needed knock to boost his confidence ahead of the 2021 ICC Worl T20, to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 17. Meanwhile, the performance has seemingly impressed Indian skipper Virat Kohli, as Kishan has stated that Kohli has assured him of an opening spot during the global event.

"I would love to open, and that is what Virat bhai said. But, at the bigger level, you need to be prepared for everything. A very good thing for me as well as for the team. Getting in good touch before the World Cup," he said in an interview with Trent Boult on IPL's website.
"You have to be prepared for every circumstance. It's important to be in that mindset. I had a chat with Virat bhai, HP [Hardik Pandya], KP [Kieron Pollard] - they were all there," he concluded.
