MS Dhoni has come back to Team India, but not as a player. While it seems good news for the team, it has also made legendary former Indian skipper Kapil Dev happy, and here's what he feels.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is back with Team India, but in some other role. He has been roped in as a mentor for the side by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, as the 15-member Indian squad was announced for the 2021 ICC World T20, set to be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from next month.

While the move was a surprise to many, fans are absolutely delighted by it, getting to see the legend with the Indian side once again. Also, Dhoni's appointment seems to have delighted legendary former Indian skipper Kapil Dev.

Speaking on the same, he told PTI that it was a good decision on BCCI's part to have Dhoni back, as he knows the team inside out, besides having won the title himself, back in 2007, during the inaugural edition in South Africa. He said that he has always backed the decision of retired players coming back to the national fray in some role.

However, he maintained that the retired players should take a break of at least three to four years to come back to the side. As for Dhoni, who is coming back after a year since his retirement, Dev feels it could be a case considering him, especially with the WT20 around and with head coach Ravi Shastri suffering from COVID, besides his term coming to an end within six weeks.
