According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Harmanpreet had mild symptoms, including fever, for four days. She got tested on Tuesday morning, as the COVID report turned out to be positive, while she has gone into self-isolation at home.

Harmanpreet has become the second top women cricketer in the country to be infected with the coronavirus after Mansi Joshi had been diagnosed with the same in October. Besides, she is also one of the high-profile cricketers in the country to be infected, along with Sachin Tendulkar, Subramanium Badrinath and the Pathan brothers.

Meanwhile, Harmanpreet did not feature in the recent Twenty20 International series against South Africa at home. The host lost 1-2, as Smriti Mandhana led the side in the former's absence.

Harmanpreet has had a prolific career for India across formats, scoring more than 4,500 international runs, besides claiming 50-plus international wickets. She has also represented Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League and Lancashire Thunder in the Women's T20 Blast, besides having played for Supernovas in the Women's T20 Challenge.
