Cricketers generally tend to entertain us and fans through their fine cricketing skills on the field. However, that's not the only mode of entertainment they possess.
Over the years, many cricketers have ventured into the entertainment industry to keep the fans amused. They have often tried their luck in movies as well.
Meanwhile, one of the current entertainment sources is a reality show, while Bigg Boss is one such that is extremely popular in India. The show has also seen some cricketers graced it with their presence, as we take a look at five of them.
Salil Ankola: The former Indian cricketer did not have a fruitful international career, as he switched to the world of entertainment. He participated in the opening season of the show, in 2006. However, he went on to sign a contract for Balaji Telefilms and was not allowed to work with other productions, leading him to be replaced by Deepak Tijori.
Navjot Singh Sidhu: The former Indian batsman is known for his funny talking skills, as he is a hit in the world of entertainment. In his post-retirement career, he is actively pursuing politics, while he participated in the show during the sixth season. Unfortunately, his political commitments forced him to leave the show early.
Vinod Kambli: Another renowned former Indian batsman, Kambli has tried his luck in Bollywood, following his premature retirement from the sport. However, he hasn't had considerable success. He was a part of the show in the third season, as a wild-card entrant, and could stay in the house for 15 days.
Andrew Symonds: The only overseas cricketer to have appeared on the show is former Australian all-rounder, Andrew Symonds. He was a guest participant in the fifth season and stayed in the house for two weeks. He interacted with Sunny Leone during his stay and seemingly proposed Juhi Parmar to a Bollywood item's tune.
S Sreesanth: The controversial Indian bowler is preparing to return to the sport after missing out for nearly eight years, owing to his alleged involvement in the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal. During this time, he has tried his luck in the entertainment sector and has gained some recognition. He participated in the 12th season of the show and finished as the runner-up.
