The term divorce is considered highly unfortunate for any married couple. From regular citizens to celebrities, anyone can suffer the unpropitious fate.

Also, Indian cricketers have suffered the same on quite a few occasions. On the same note, we look at the five Indian cricketers who have grieved through it.

Shikhar Dhawan
The Indian opener happens to be the latest to join the list. On Tuesday, his now ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee confirmed the same. The couple got married in 2012, while Ayesha was already divorced back then from her first marriage. Dhawan adopted her two children, while Ayesha gave birth to their son Zoravar a year later. However, after eight years, the couple has parted ways due to reasons unknown.

Dinesh Karthik
The wicketkeeper-batsman, too, suffered a fate on a sad note. He was married to Nikita Vanjara in 2007, who happened to be his childhood friend. However, in 2012, he came to know about his alleged affair with his Indian teammate Murali Vijay. Consequently, both decided to part ways. While Nikita later hitched with Vijay, Karthik tied the knot with Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal in 2015.

Vinod Kambli
The prolific Indian batsman was married to Noella Lewis in 1998. However, for reasons unknown, both went separate ways, while Kambli later married a former model, Andrea Hewitt.

Mohammad Azharuddin
The former Indian skipper has always remained in the controversy books, be it match-fixing or divorce. As for the topic itself, he had married Naureen in 1987. However, he began an affair with Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani, resulting in him divorcing his wife in 1996 and marrying Sangeeta in the same year.

Javagal Srinath
The former Indian pacer, too, joins the list. He had married Jyothsna in 1999. However, they too could not make it last forever and eventually got separated due to unknown reasons. Later, in 2008, he went on to marry a journalist named Madhavi Patravali.
