Kohli finishes 2020 with a drought: Blame it on the pandemic or his shaky form, but the world's best batsman has ended 2020 without a century across formats. Lowest Test total for India: The first and obvious record, it happened to be India's lowest total in the format, as they were rattled up for 36. They went past their previous lowest of 42, that came against England at Lord's in 1974. However, India were not exactly bundled out today, with the final batsman, Mohammed Shami retiring hurt. It was also the lowest total in the current century by any team. Overall, it was the seventh-lowest total in Test history. Furthermore, it was also the lowest by any team in a day-night Test.

Second instance of no batsman reaching doubles in an innings: In another hated record, this was only the second instance in Test history of no batsman entering double figures in an innings. The first and only case before this was in 1924, when South Africa were bundled out for 30 against England, with Herbie Taylor (7) being the top scorer. For India today, it was Mayank Agarwal (9).
