Following a horror show on Day 3, India have been bundled out for their lowest Test total in the first day-night Test, in Adelaide, on Saturday. Lowest Test total for India: The first and obvious record, it happened to be India's lowest total in the format, as they were rattled up for 36. They went past their previous lowest of 42, that came against England at Lord's in 1974. However, India were not exactly bundled out today, with the final batsman, Mohammed Shami retiring hurt. It was also the lowest total in the current century by any team. Overall, it was the seventh-lowest total in Test history. Furthermore, it was also the lowest by any team in a day-night Test.

Lowest total for India at the fall of sixth wicket: Even prior to the apparent record, India had already scripted a rejected one, as they posted their lowest total at the fall of the sixth wicket. India were 196 today, going past their previous lowest of 256, against South Africa, in 1996.

India's top-six add fewest runs in an innings: In another interesting, yet unwanted record, the top-six batsmen of India have added the fewest runs in a Test innings, of 19. They went past their previous lowest of 20, against New Zealand in 1969.

Second instance of no batsman reaching doubles in an innings: In another hated record, this was only the second instance in Test history of no batsman entering double figures in an innings. The first and only case before this was in 1924, when South Africa were bundled out for 30 against England, with Herbie Taylor (7) being the top scorer. For India today, it was Mayank Agarwal (9).

Third occasion of 1975 final batsman retiring hurt: The Indian innings today saw last batsman Shami retiring hurt to end the Indian innings. Incidentally, it was the third such occasion in Test history, with the previous two being Ewen Chatfield for New Zealand, against England in 1975, and Bert Sutcliffe for New Zealand, against England in 1965.
