As things gear up for India's upcoming tour of Australia, starting November 27, Cricket Australia (CA) has announced an 18-member squad for the limited-overs series. India are scheduled to play three T20Is and ODIs each.

As for the squad, 21-year-old all-rounder Chris Green has earned his maiden national call-up. Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Moises Henriques, too, gets his recall, as Mitchell Marsh is yet to recover from his ankle injury.

Green has been phenomenal with the bat in the initial rounds of Sheffield Shield. So far, he has been Western Australia's highest run-scorer, with 264 runs in three innings, at a Bardmansque average of 132.00, including a century and a half-century. However, he is yet to bowl, as he has not pushed himself onto it, following a string of back-related issues.

"Cameron's domestic form has been outstanding, and he has carried it through for Western Australia this summer. As a potential player of the future, this is an opportunity for him to be part of the squad and build on his experience," said Trevor Hohns, chairman of Australian selectors.

"We've had our eye on him for some time now. Like our one-day squad, we can assume our Test squad will be a bit bigger than normal, so he'll certainly come into contention. But, that doesn't mean there's pressure on anyone else, because our Test side has performed very well and is pretty stable. I don't envisage too much pressure being exerted on any of the incumbents immediately," added Hohns.

"It's always very handy to have top-order players that can bowl - batting all-rounders are like gold - but at the moment, his batting alone is holding him in pretty good stead, especially in the long form of the game," Hohns further quoted.

Henriques earned his recall after leading Sydney Sixers to the Big Bash League (BBL) title last season. He has also been impressive, so far, in the Sheffield Shield, especially with the bat. He is their highest run-scorer, scoring 182 runs in a couple of innings, at an average of 182.00, including a century.

"Moises is a tremendous cricketer, with loads of experience, and is a great person to have around the group. His form was extremely impressive in leading the Sixers to the BBL title last summer, and he has played well at the start of this season," Hohns continued.

"Mitch will commence some low-intensity fitness and skills in the coming weeks, and selectors are hopeful of his return to play in the Australia A fixtures in early December, and then, for him to be fully fit to perform his role in the side as an all-rounder. What we do have is like for like replacements in Moises and Cameron as batting all-rounders, in line with our selection approach for one-day cricket," concluded Hohns.
