IndiGo Slashes Fares For Smart Travellers Making Flying Cheaper Than Ever!

The IndiGo Lite Scheme

IndiGo has launched a super offer for passengers who only carry cabin baggage. They've introduced a new economy fare called 'IndiGo Lite'. The main idea is to cut ticket prices for people travelling with less luggage. Basically, you only pay for the services you actually use.

When does the IndiGo Lite offer start?

IndiGo started offering 'IndiGo Lite' tickets on its official website and app from July 1. You can book these tickets for travel starting from July 15, 2026. This new fare applies to all of IndiGo's domestic and international non-stop flights. You can use it for one-way, round-trip, and even multi-city bookings for both adults and children.

Features of the 'IndiGo Lite' scheme

Passengers choosing this fare can carry one cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg. The airline will assign a seat for free. If you need extras like check-in baggage, a preferred seat, meals, or 'Fast Forward' service, you can pay for them separately. These add-ons are available based on availability. You can also earn and use points under IndiGo's 'Bluechip' loyalty program. However, the company has clarified that this 'IndiGo Lite' fare is not for people travelling with infants, or for corporate and group bookings.

Reduced costs for passengers

IndiGo's Chief Strategy Officer, Alok Singh, explained the move. He said, "'IndiGo Lite' is designed for passengers who travel with less luggage and want to pay only for the services they use. This is part of our continuous effort to provide a convenient and low-cost travel experience for passengers."
