1- ATM withdrawals become more expensive
From May 1, 2025, ATM withdrawals will be more expensive. The RBI recently permitted the NPCI's proposal to increase fees. This means that from May 1st, withdrawing money from a non-home bank ATM will cost up to Rs 23 per transaction after the limit, instead of Rs 17. Balance checks will cost Rs 7 instead of Rs 6.

2- ATM transaction limits change for many banks
ATM transaction limits are changing from May 1st. Customers in metro cities will only be able to make 3 free ATM transactions per month. In non-metro cities, the limit will be 5 transactions per month. This includes cash withdrawals, balance checks, and mini statements.

3- Waiting list tickets now valid for general class only
Railway ticket booking rules are changing from May 1, 2025. Waiting list tickets will only be valid for general class travel. You will no longer be able to travel in sleeper class with a waiting list ticket. The advance reservation period has also been reduced from 120 days to 60 days.
