Six airbags, ABS, EBD, hill-start control, downhill braking control, and vehicle stability management are standard safety equipment on the Carens. It also has a tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensors, four-wheel disc brakes, and electronic stability control.

Kia has not divulged the engine options for the Carens, but the firm has stated that the seven-seater RV would be offered with a choice of petrol or diesel engines. According to the South Korean automaker, the forthcoming Kia Carens will be available with manual and automatic transmission options, including a seven-speed DCT automatic and a six-speed manual transmission.
