Apple launched its first foldable phone globally on Wednesday during the ‘Surprise and Shine' event. The foldable, known as the iPhone Duo, will soon be available in two different colour options. The A20 Pro chipset, which is based on TSMC's 2nm technology, is Apple's newest mobile platform and powers the iPhone Duo. The new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are likewise powered by this processor.
The dual back camera unit of Apple's first foldable has two 48-megapixel cameras. Additionally, the phone has cameras on both the cover display and the interior folding screen. Additionally, the foldable, passport-like device comes with MagSafe wireless charging capabilities. It is also going to be eSIM only across the world. And yes, this device supports Apple Pencil that iPad users love.
The foundation of the iPhone Duo's capabilities is its operating system. More importantly, even while utilising split view mode, make full use of the screen estate without leaving any gaps. You may build up unique lockscreens. You may use it in a variety of settings, and iOS will intelligently adjust to your orientation. It can even function half folded, giving you the appearance of a book.
Apple's new iPhone Duo features a Touch ID sensor embedded directly into the power button alongside Apple Watch proximity unlocking, while opting to exclude Face ID. The removal of the complex Face ID sensor array allowed engineers to conserve internal space and further minimise the total weight of the foldable device.
The iPhone Duo fold gets a starting price of $1,999 for the base 256GB model, and comes with up to 2TB storage. Pre-orders for the fold start in October with sales also confirmed for the same month.
Apple’s first iPhone foldable has a dual rear camera setup that gets a 48MP main sensor along with a 12MP telephoto lens. It has the same A20 Pro chipset along with C2 modem from Apple that promises better Wi-Fi and overall connectivity. It has a dual battery tech system which the company says is good for long backup.
Apple has announced iPhone Duo in two colours: Glossy White and Classic Black.
Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its 'Surprise and Shine' event on Wednesday. The iPhone 18 duo come with notable hardware upgrades over last year's iPhone 17 Pro models. They run on Apple's latest-generation A20 Pro chipset and include the company's new in-house C2 modem. The iPhone 18 Pro is claimed to provide up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the Pro Max model is advertised to deliver battery life of up to 30 hours.
