It comes as part of its efforts to entertain existing users and attract new customers to use its voice assistant over Google Assistant and Apple's Siri.
On Thursday, Amazon unveiled India's first celebrity voice feature on Alexa, featuring the country's most renowned film star, Amitabh Bachchan. It comes as part of its efforts to entertain existing users and attract new customers to use its voice assistant over Google Assistant and Apple's Siri. The firm had launched Samuel Jackson's voice on Alexa in the United States in 2019. The company extended its celebrity voice function to India with the latest launch. Customers in India can now add the voice of the Bollywood icon to their Echo devices or the Amazon shopping app for Rs 149 for the first year.
To purchase the celebrity voice, say, "Alexa, introduce me to Amitabh Bachchan." You can also order it directly from Amazon.com. You will be able to engage with the actor's voice once your payment has been validated. You may also use the wake word "Amit ji" to communicate with Bachchan's voice by asking, "Alexa, enable Amit ji wake word."
It will function in addition to the normal wake phrase "Alexa."

The 78-year-old actor shares anecdotes from his life, poetry from his father, tongue twisters, and inspiring quotations with Amazon. Customers may also ask Alexa to play music, set alarms, check the weather, and get responses in Bachchan's trademark manner.
Amazon has been working on activating Bachchan's voice on Alexa for the previous few months after it was first revealed in September last year. The experience is intended to delight his fans while also attracting new users to the voice assistant.
