Why did Jyothika say 'NO' to superstar Vijay?

Nithya will now be one of the three female leads in Vijay 61 No clear reason has been given as to why Jyothika chose to walk out.

Actress Nithya Menen has been brought onboard after Jyothika walked out of the movie, Vijay 61,  being directed by Atlee. Nithya will now be one of the three female leads in the film, which also has Telugu actress  Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal as the starcast.

According to a report published on Sify.com, Jyothika has been replaced by in Vijay’s 61st project. No clear reason has been given as to why Jyothika chose to walk out. However, the buzz is that it was due to date issue and according to a report in Indian Express, Jyothika herself opted out of the project as she was disappointed with the script. 

Vijay’s next film after Bairavaa went on floors on February 1st. In fact, Jyothika and Vijay were to shoot for the next 10 days in Chennai, and the parts that were to be shot were  from the 1980s.

Vijay 61 will be Nithya’s first movie with Vijay. Nithya now enjoys a prominent fan following in the South India film industries as she has acted in all four languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Last year, Nithya was part of several blockbusters including, 24, Iru Mugan and Janatha Garage. Nithya has already worked in quite a few Tamil films like O Kadhal Kanmani, Bangalore Naatkal to name a recent few.

Vijay 61 also features Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, SJ Suriyah, Sathyan among others. Adding to the star power will be Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman and ace cinematographer GK Vishnu.
