Shocking: This South Indian actress admitted in Bengaluru hospital for cancer treatment

According to the reports, Krishna is currently undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Bannerghatta, Bengaluru. Most importantly, the actress is said to be in a huge need of O-positive blood for treatment. According to the doctors, she is responding well to chemotherapy.

Krishna is born on March 6th, 1933 in Naihati, West Bengal, 84-year-old Krishna Kumari's elder sister Shavukaru Janaki (Sowkar Janaki) is also a famous actress who has recently appeared in the movie Babu Bangaram of Venkatesh. 

 

After marriage to Indian Express editor Ajay Khaitan in the late 70s, Krishna Kumar has quit acting and settled in Bengaluru.

 

She made her acting debut with Telugu movie Navvithe Navaratnalu in 1951. Krishna acted in 150 Telugu films and more than 30 Tamil and Kannada films. Krishna has worked with legends like NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishnam Raju, Dr Rajkumar, Sivaji Ganesan, and Kanta Rao.

 

Krishna's husband died in 2012, while she's survived by daughter Dipika Maiya who is a writer, son-in-law and a grandson. Her daughter has written her biography titled My Mother - T Krishna Kumari, which captures the journey of a teen actor.
