Sanjay Dutt has successfully combated lung cancer and become the face of the Cancer Awareness program under the Defeat-NCD Partnership at the United Nations Institute for Training.

During the event at the UN, the actor shared his journey of surviving with cancer and living with immediate family members who lost their lives to the disease.

The actor recognised the important role of health care workers, medical practitioners, and family members during such tough times.

The actor expresses his thoughts about the variant of the cost of curing cancer in different countries.

He questioned how the ones who are less fortunate will get better treatment even if they are diagnosed at an early stage.

These inequalities motivated Sanjay to stand for this issue and lend a helping hand.

The Defeat-NCD Partnership to champion the work across 90 plus low resource countries and accelerate action towards the United Nations  

Sanjay Dutt pledged and assured that he will bring in the benefits of having a mass reach to educate and make people aware about this deadly disease that can be cured with proper treatment.

In this regard, preparatory work has already commenced at The Defeat-NCD Partnership on research and development of a script for a film on the theme of living with cancer.
