Sandalwood drug case: Priyanka Alva fails to appear before CCB

The CCB had issued a notice a day after Priyanka Alva’s husband Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai residence was raided over suspicions of hiding Aditya Alva. However, Priyanka failed to acknowledge the summons and did not appear before the CCB.


Bengaluru: Priyanka Alva, wife of Vivek Oberoi, was served a notice by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru to appear before them on Friday.

The notice was sent regarding her brother Aditya Alva, one of the prime accused in the Sandalwood drug cases. However, Priyanka failed to acknowledge the summons and did not appear before the CCB sleuths.

Speaking to the media the CCB sleuths stated “We need to question Ms. Alva as we suspect she is aware of the whereabouts of her brother. She has not honoured the summons to appear on Friday. We will again issue summons to her”.

Meanwhile, the Central Crime Bureau (CCB) sleuths in Bengaluru have requested the High Court not to dismiss the case against Aditya Alva regarding the Sandalwood drugs investigation.

Aditya has been absconding ever since the police started probing the drug case.

Following a tip-off, the CCB, on Thursday raided Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai residence in search of Aditya Alva.

Aditya Alva is the son of late minister Jeevaraj Alva and brother-in-law of Vivek Oberoi. He is amongst the 12 accused in the Sandalwood drug scandal which is being investigated by the CCB.
