All for Vijay! How fans of this small Kerala town watched 'Bhairava' on day one

At the eleventh hour, they realised that the only theatre in the locality will not be screening the film on the release day.  

 Ilaya Dalapathy Vijay's fans of Nedumangad, a small town 19 km from Thiruvananthapuram, were eagerly waiting all these days for 12 January, the grand releasing date of 'Bhairava,' the latest Tamil thriller. 

At the eleventh hour, they realised that the only theatre in the locality will not be screening the film on the release day. It had been booked for a wedding ceremony! 

But the fans were not ready to give up. They had only a day and night to find an alternative. They found a C-class theatre, which had shut shop months back at Venjaramood, a nearby town.  

The owner of the theatre was happy to show the film if the fans made all the arrangements, including cleaning the theatre premises, removing the overgrown shrubs and cleaning the toilets. Except for the projector, everything in the building needed a thorough scrub. The seats and floor were full of dust and dirt.They were left with only a few hours of Wednesday night to make the theatre ready for Bhairava. They finally managed to get the rights ready by paying Rs. 3lakhs,  The fans worked overnight to clean up everything. 

They cleaned  the premises, seats, toilets and the floor. Everything was in place by 10 am on Thursday. But the troubles were far from over. The local panchayat authorities intervened as they had received complaints of noise pollution against the theatre in the past. 

But Vijay fans did not lose hope. They immediately contacted the neighbour who had raised a hue and cry over the noise pollution from the theatre. The complainant could not reject the sincere pleas of the Vijay fans. 

The show went on smooth, with a few technical disruptions, though. And the story had a happy climax.
