The secret voice behind the sweet lullaby of 'IDI'

It was not the first time Seema Yahiya faced a microphone. As the leader of the women’s wing of Indian Union Muslim League, she used to address political meetings and is known for her oratorical skills. She used to sing as well, when she was young.  

Now, it has been years since she hummed a song.But when her son, Sajid Yahiya wanted her to give voice to an old lullaby for his debut directorial venture 'IDI,' she couldn’t say no. On his part, Sajid couldn't find a better voice when he thought of a soothing melody for his film. After much persuasion by Sajid and music director Rahul Raj, Seema finally agreed.

Active in movies since 2007, Sajid did several small roles and proudly says he drew a lot of inspiration from his parents who were active in politics.

'IDI,' expanded as 'Inspector Dawood Ibrahim,' stars Jayasurya in the title role and Sshivada, Joju George and Sunil Sukhada in key roles.
