Be it for films that have portions set in some foreign country or be it shooting some film songs abroad, movies and filming these days do involve foreign schedules. But, of late, Kashmir seems to be the hotspot for South films as more and more film crews are flying to the beautiful valley for shooting films.

Mani Ratnam's Roja (1992) starring Arvind Swami and Madhoo was predominantly shot in Kashmir and now after nearly 24 years, if sources are to be believed, he will shoot major portions of his upcoming next in Kashmir. This untitled Madras Talkies production will have Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles. Karthi is reportedly doing a crash course in flying for his role of a pilot in the film.

Recently, Vikram starrer Irumugan being directed by Anand Shankar starring Nithya Menen and Nayanthara wrapped up the Pahalgam schedule where a song and few high octane action sequences were filmed.

Vikram Prabhu starrer Wagah, being directed by GNR Kumaravelan as the title itself suggests shot important portions of the film in Kashmir and then moved on to the Wagah border.

And not just that, the upcoming Telugu remake of director Mohanraja's hit Thani Oruvan (the Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swami, Nayanthara starrer) with Ram Charan Teja in the lead, will shoot important sequences in Kashmir soon, this month.

Amala Paul's debut Sandalwood project, Hebbuli being directed by Krishna with Sudeep, who reportedly plays a soldier in the film will also have a Kashmir schedule soon.
