BJP MLA demands Bharat Ratna for Superstar Rajinikanth

Gote called the Maharashtra-born Rajinikanth as a 'Son of the Soil' and requested the Maharashtra Assembly to consider passing a resolution demanding the central government award the superstar.
The BJP MLA's demand has taken everyone by surprise as the government has already honoured Rajinikanth with India's second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, earlier this year.
In 2000 he was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan.
