After Dear Zindagi, Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt collaborating for 'Darlings', announcement soon

 Shah Rukh Khan collaborates with Alia Bhatt for a quirky mother-daughter tale, 'Darlings', but this time as a producer. 

For the first time, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt collaborated on Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi, which worked successfully in both critical and commercial terms. And now, SRK is all set to reunite with Alia Bhatt on a new journey. The entire film is made by Red Chillies, according to a source, it was told to Alia sometime back, "She loved it and instantly came on board the film."

Darlings marks Jasmeet K Reen's directorial debut, who has worked on many films and previously written films such as Force 2, Fanney Khan, and Pati Patni Aur Woh as Associate Chief Assistant Director. With actors including Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew on board, the movie rides on a strong cast lead by Alia.

The story revolves around a mother and daughter played by Shefali Shah and Alia Bhatt. As per the source, "It's set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a middle-class family and traces the lives of two women, as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances."

The source mentioned that an official announcement would be made this coming week, and the shooting will go on the floors in the first half of 2021, "In-fact, the movie is gearing up for a release this year itself. The pre-production work is going on full swing, and the team is all ready to take it on floors very soon in Mumbai."

In addition to Darlings, the production team of SRK is working on several films on the production front, including Love Hostel starring Bobby Deol, Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra, and Bob Biswas is in the post-production process with Abhishek Bachchan. The film is gearing up to open in the summer of 2021. 

Shah Rukh Khan himself is currently shooting for his upcoming film Pathan co-starring Deepika Padukone. On the other side, John Abraham plays the Pathan antagonist. For the superstar, the follow-up to Pathan is considered to be Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming social comedy.
