Kerala police's Special Investigation Team has given a clean chit to Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly in a sexual assault case due to a lack of evidence.

Kochi: Actor Nivin Pauly has been cleared of all charges in a rape case, with the special investigation team (SIT) officially removing him from the list of accused. The SIT submitted its report to the Kothamangalam court, stating that there was no evidence to support the allegations against the actor. As a result, the police filed a report excluding him from the case.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a Kothamangalam native woman, who claimed that Nivin Pauly and his associates had gang-raped her in Dubai. However, the police investigation revealed that Pauly was not in Dubai during the time the alleged assault took place. The SIT report confirmed that the investigation into the other accused individuals would continue.

In response to the allegations, Nivin Pauly had previously filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP), asserting that the accusations were false and part of a conspiracy. He also requested a thorough investigation into the matter. The actor said that he was in Kerala during the time of the alleged incident, provided his passport as evidence to support his claim.
