FIR against Anubrata, Locket Chatterjee for violating poll code

Synopsis

The Election Commission yesterday filed two FIRs against controversial Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal from Birbhum district for venturing out of his constituency despite a warning and for going to cast his vote sporting TMC's election symbol on his kurta.

 

An FIR was also filed against actor-turned-BJP leader Locket Chatterjee for threatening the presiding officer of a booth in West Bengal's Birbhum district.

 

The commission had also show-caused TMC's Abdur Rezzak Mollah and CPI-M's Mohammed Salim for violating the model code of conduct.

 

The last phase of polling happened on April 30 which witnessed violence and intimidation by party workers.
