Brisk polling has been reported in Kerala in the crucial assembly polls, despite intermittent rains across the state on Monday. A stiff triangular fight, first time in the history of Kerala, is expected to push voter turn out to record high.
In the first few hours heavy voting is reported from northern parts of Kerala. The polling began in all 140 constituencies at 7:00 am.
Alappuzha recorded more than 11% voting. In many polling stations in north Kerala, polling crossed 10% of the total electors. Polling is fast pace in the coastal belt as well.
Pime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala to vote in record numbers.
