Sasikala pays up Rs 10 crore fine, set to walk out of jail by January-end

Decks cleared for late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's confidante V K Sasikala's release from the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after she pays up the fine imposed by the trial court in the disproportionate assets case.
 

Former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader VK Sasikala may walk out of jail by end of January 2021 after completing her four-year term.

Sasikala's lawyer informed that the fine over Rs 10 crore imposed on his client by the trial court in the disproportionate assets case had been paid up.

Muthukumar, the lawyer, said he had sumbitted four Demand Drafts to the 34th City Civil Court in Bengaluru following which he had received acknowledgement slips around 7pm.

Sasikala and two of her relatives were sent to the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after they surrendered before the trial court on February 15, 2017.
