Karnataka: 13-year-old girl kills self after being scolded by sibling

Synopsis

A 13-year-old girl killed herself after being scolded by her elder sister for misbehaving. The girl committed suicide after she was irritated for having been advised against quarrelling with small children while playing.

Mangaluru: A 13-year-old girl, irritated for having been advised against quarrelling with small children while playing, has committed suicide.

The incident was reported from Guddada Melu, Moodumarnad, Moodbidri on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Pooja, daughter of Karunakara and Sushila.

Pooja, the girl, who was playing with her relatives in the afternoon, reportedly beat up small children and bothered them.

Poojas’s elder sister then advised her to not irritate the kids. Annoyed by her elder sister’s words, the girl then tied a shawl to the branch of a tree near their house and committed suicide.

A case in this connection has been registered in Moodbidri police station and the police are investigating regarding the same.
