Bengaluru: Former India captain MS Dhoni chose to quit international cricket on Independence Day today (August 15) with a classic song from Amitabh Bachchan’s movie.

Dhoni, just like he did with his Test retirement, surprised everyone with his international cricket quitting. On his Instagram account, he posted a four-minute-seven-second video which features pictures from his illustrious career with the song ‘Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon’ playing. This song is from the 1976 movie ‘Kabhie Kabhie’.

He captioned the post, "Thanks. Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired (sic)."
The ‘Main Pal Do…’ song was originally sung by Mukesh with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi and music composed by Khayyam.
Yesterday (August 14), Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammates arrived in Chennai for a preparatory camp ahead of IPL 2020.
