Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma to aid people during COVID crisis

Virat Kohli is the best batsman globally, while he currently leads Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He is married to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, as both plan on helping the nation during the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.


India continues to fight through the devastation caused by the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, as the second wave of the same has hit everyone hard. With cases on the rise every day, India struggles with enough amenities to help the ailing patients.

Consequently, celebrities from all divisions are playing their part in helping the nation to help the ones who need critical care. Similarly, some of the cricketers worldwide have also played their role to help India arrange enough oxygen to treat the patients.

Meanwhile, renowned Indian cricketer and skipper Virat Kohli, who is currently leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, has also decided to extend his helping hand. Along with him, his Bollywood wife Anushka Sharma would be contributing as well.

Anushka turned 33 on Saturday. However, she refrained from celebrating owing to the ongoing COVID crisis. Meanwhile, in an Instagram video of hers, she addressed her fans, thanking them for the wishes, besides announcing that she and Kohli would be launching an initiative to help the COVID patients in the country.

“Hi guys, I hope you’ll are safe. I just want to say a big thank you to you’ll, for all the Birthday wishes. It truly made my day special. But, in the midst of all this pain and suffering, it just did not feel right for me to celebrate my Birthday. But, I have seen your special messages to me. Now, I have an important message for you,” she said in the video.

“I would like to appeal to everyone to unite and support our country in this hour of crisis. Virat and I are coming together to do our bit. We will share details soon so that you can also be a part of this movement. Remember, we are all in this together. Guys, please stay safe. And, take care of yourself. Thank you,” she concluded.

As of Sunday, India had registered more than 3.60 lakh new cases of COVID, with over 400 deaths in the past 24 hours.
